PARISH LIFE

Parish Life

The more involved people are, the more positive attitude they have about themselves, the more things to look forward to. It gives them a sense of purpose.

Our recent survey put us in the 76th percentile for hospitality. On the statement “Our church welcomes and is enriched by persons from many different walks of life,” 97.8% agreed, with 63.7% agreeing strongly.
Below are examples of ways in which Trinity gathers together in fun and informal ways to build community. To learn more about these events and stay updated with upcoming dates, subscribe to our Email Newsletter, Talk of Trinity, and follow our Facebook page.

Red Door Committee: This group organizes fundraiser events in support of various missions and needs of the church that fall outside the standard church budget, such as scholarships to church camp or assistance to repair the playground.

Picnics & Parties: This committee has previously had a goal of organizing regular social events. These have included Theology on Tap, a Newcomers Dinner, and the annual church picnic. COVID put many activities on hiatus, but our goal is to get these efforts back on track.

SUPPER CLUBS

What is a Supper Club?

Supper Club is a potluck dinner at a host’s home, where people meet in an informal and relaxed setting. It’s great for newcomers and long-timers.

What’s the agenda?

The only agenda is to get to know one another better and share food and fellowship. There is no program – just dinner, hospitality, and conversation.

Who can participate?

All who attend Trinity Parish (members and visitors) are invited to participate! Kids are welcome, along with their parents.

How does it work?

Everyone who signs up will be assigned to a Supper Club of 6-8 people. The goal is for each group to gather together quarterly throughout the year. Each time, one individual or couple agrees to host the group in their home and provide a main dish. The other members contribute the rest of the meal (salad, sides, dessert, beverages, etc.) Or you can meet at a restaurant - be creative!

Who figures out when and where our supper club will gather?

When you sign up online, there is a place to indicate if you are willing to be your club’s coordinator, or if you are willing to host a Supper Club in your home. The coordinator will reach out to the group by email or phone, and figure out the best day, time, and place for the group to meet.

What if I’m a vegetarian, or lactose/gluten intolerant, or allergic to garbanzo beans?

There is a place to list all your dietary restrictions on the online form below. Your Supper Club coordinator and hosts will be informed of your needs and will work with the group to make sure there are options for you.

What if I need a ride to Supper Club gatherings?

There is a place to indicate transportation needs on the form.

Can my group go to a restaurant, get together more than twice or do brunch instead of supper, etc?

Sure! Get creative. Just make sure the alternative plan works for the whole group.

What about kids?

We know young families would like to participate, and we encourage kids to do so should their parents wish. This will be asked on the signup form, along with ages, so that coordinators can pair up families with kids.

What if my Supper Club can’t find any days to meet?

This is rare, but it does happen once in a while.  Coordinators will do their best to accommodate everyone’s schedules, but the Supper Club may have to move forward with a date even if it does not work for everyone.

How do I sign up?

Use the form below. Please contact Allison Graham or Kendall Welsh with any questions.
