What to Expect on Your First Visit
Never been to Trinity — or to church in a while? Here is exactly what to expect, no insider knowledge required.
- Come as you are. You will see everything from jeans to Sunday best. Wear what feels comfortable.
- You will be welcomed, not put on the spot. Someone will greet you at the door and help you find a seat. You are free to simply sit, watch, and take it in.
- Plan for about an hour.
- Here is what happens: we sing, we pray, and someone shares a short, down-to-earth message from the Bible about everyday life. Near the end we share a simple meal at the table — everyone is welcome to come forward, whether to receive or just for a blessing.
- You will stand, sit, and kneel at different points. Just follow the people around you, or the printed guide that walks you through every step. No one is keeping score.
- Your kids are welcome. There is nursery care for little ones and a special time for children during the 10:00 service, so you can relax and be present.
- Come as often — or as little — as you like. There is no pressure, ever. We are simply glad you came.
Two ways to join us on Sunday:
- 7:30 a.m. — Quiet & Reflective. A calm, spoken service with no music, about 45 minutes. A good fit if you like stillness and a smaller crowd.
- 10:00 a.m. — Full & Family-Friendly. Music from our choir and organ, families and Austin Peay students, and programs for children. Our liveliest, most welcoming service for first-timers.
At Trinity Episcopal Church, we offer two Sunday services that are designed to meet the needs and preferences of different members of our community. Whether you prefer a more traditional or a more contemporary worship experience, we have a service that is right for you.
SUNDAY SERVICES
7:30 am Holy Eucharist, Rite I:
This early morning service is a quiet and contemplative way to start your Sunday. The service features scripture, prayers, sermon, and Holy Communion, and is conducted using traditional language. There is no music during this service, allowing you to focus on the beauty of the liturgy and the presence of God.
10 am Children's Chapel
Children's Chapel is offered for children ages 3 through 7 years old and located on the lower level of the parish house/administrative building. Children's Chapel includes age-appropriate songs, prayers, and lessons. The children are escorted back to the worship area in time to share Holy Communion with their family. 10:00 am Holy Eucharist, Rite II:
This service features Trinity's choir, hymns, beautiful organ, as well as scripture, prayers, sermon and Holy Communion. We also offer nursery care and children's chapel during this service for families with infants and young children. The service uses contemporary language and is a great choice for families, those who enjoy music in worship, or those who prefer a more relaxed environment.
Both services use similar formats of praise, prayer, and Holy Communion, and are opportunities for spiritual growth, reflection, and connection with others in the community.

While our hopes are for you to join us for in-person service, we know this is not always feasible. Please join us for online services through our YouTube channel.
