My Dear Neighbors in Christ,
I am grateful to continue to lead our Stewardship Campaign and to spend these weeks with intention as we enter a season of giving. Our theme this year is Walk in Love, and it calls us to remember that our greatest gift in community is how we align and come together in purpose and mission. When we walk in the same direction, we can do so many things.
During this season we talk a lot about money, about our budget. Yes, those things are important, they are the way we fund the Church, but our real focus is on what our gifts can do for the world. Jesus calls us to heal, visit, feed, accompany, protect, advocate, love our neighbor, and sharing our time, talent, and treasure is the way that we make this happen.
Your annual pledge, no matter the amount, allows our Vestry to allocate money across our many ministries. While Plate offerings are welcomed and encouraged, those offerings cannot be financially planned for a budget. Your pledge of giving is what maintains and sustains Trinity for the coming year.
Each of us hears this call differently, just as each of us has been blessed by God differently. Our talents and training have been gifts freely given to us in Creation so that we may share them with a world in need. How will you feel God’s call to walk in love this year? How will you determine how you will share your gifts with God’s people in the world?
The total amount pledged during last year’s campaign was just over $423,000. Thank you! Your dedication to our church and connected communities absolutely shows through. Over the next few weeks, you’ll hear from different areas ministries? of our church on how your pledge has truly made a difference.
The goal for this 2025 campaign is $490,000. This is the total amount allocated for our church to operate in the coming year. The proposed budget reflects significant growth in Outreach, so our love goes even further beyond our beautiful red doors. You’ll also see growth planned around technology, facility maintenance and improvements, and pastoral care.
Soon, you will receive the invitation to make your promise to the Church for the year to come. Before you fill it out, whether online or on paper, I ask that you pray about it, discuss it with your family, and discern how God is calling you to share your gifts.
Our campaign will conclude on November 3rd, All Saints Sunday. What better way to honor those who have come before us than to show our dedication to the future of our church. We ask that you please return your pledge, either online or in paper, on November 3rd so that we may combine your gift with many others to be blessed, broken, and shared with the world. If there is anything I can do to support you or questions I can answer, please do not hesitate to reach out (how?)
I have no doubt that our faithful community will come together to show how we truly Walk in Love. To aid in your prayer and discernment, we have developed a Prayer Path around our downtown community. Take the path and practice the prayers recommended along the way. Begin and end your journey with your heart and mind focused on Trinity, and how we will continue to serve.
Let us Walk in Love as Christ loved us and gave himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God.
